National Running Day

In honor of National Running Day, I couldn’t resist getting outside for a little jog. If you’re a runner, you know how it feels - miss even one day, and it drives you a little crazy.

Since completing my first ultra marathon last month, I’ve been nursing some knee and IT band issues, so today was a big win for me. I managed to get in a full mile without pain, and honestly, it felt amazing.

As I ran, I couldn’t help but drift back to past races, and one that always sticks with me is the Long Beach Half from 2015. I still remember the energy I felt around the halfway mark, every stride feeling electric, like I could fly forever.

Just passed the 10K in my memory replay… and, well, another 11K or so to go!

No matter how you celebrated National Running Day, I hope it was full of joy, movement, and maybe a little nostalgia too.
